"If the idea is alright, who cares where they come from?" Would they have the same response if they found out a supporter of Israel had links to racist sites on his or her blog? I doubt it - it would be used as a way to characterize that person also as a racist.

ReplyDeleteThey can't differentiate between an idea and an affect. They mistake their feelings and emotions for ideas based rationality and verifiability. They are not concerned with consistency or universality because they feel they must be right, so they are right. It's an immature kind of thinking and typical of people who have never learned to examine their own premises.
