Antisemitism, antizionism, and the redemptive act of one man in Australia

Simon Schama, the distinguished British historian, writes, "Globalise the intifada just means kill Jews wherever and whenever you can."

One of the "vile bigots who scream 'globalize the intifada'" and justify the murder of Jews.

Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib: "There are two types of antisemites today after the heinous massacre in Australia by Islamist terrorist: those (most) who are keeping a low profile & weathering the storm; & a few who are determined haters no matter what. Remember: anti-Zionism regularly devolves into antisemitism."

He cites two posts on X, one by Sarah Wilkinson and one by Hadi Hoteit.

Hoteit wrote: "Is he a terrorist for killing people who continue to support a state that has carried out a continuous genocide against the indigenous peoples of Palestine and Lebanon for 77 years?"

And finally, one man who redeems our faith in humanity - Ahmed El Ahmad who grabbed the rifle from one of the attackers at the risk of his own life, and undoubtedly saving the lives of many.

Happy Hanukkah - sadness and joy together

Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah, the festival of lights. Today has been a very heavy day. Sixteen people were murdered in Sydney, Australia, at a Hanukkah celebration on Bondi Beach.

The two gunmen, a father and son, were originally from Pakistan and, according to Australian news sources, had likely sworn allegiance to the Islamic State.

Sixteen beautiful souls are dead tonight because of hatred of Jews. May their memories be for a blessing.
