The murderous Qawasameh clan (from Elder of Ziyon)
Good article by Elder of Ziyon on the the murderous Qawasameh clan. Marwan Qawasameh, a leader of the clan, is suspected of being one of the two kidnappers and murderers of the three Israeli teenagers whose bodies were found yesterday.
But Hamas refuses to distance itself from the clan.
Indeed, Hamas tries to have it both ways. They might claim (privately) that the Qawasamehs are not part of the movement, but they are quick to take credit for actions by the family.
That sums it up. They can be the 'attack dog' while Hamas has 'plausible deniability.'
Yes, that's one of the points that Shlomo Eldar makes in his article in Al Monitor. Until Hamas disavows the Qawasamehs, they have to suffer the consequences of their actions.
